Samsung Galaxy J Max 7-inch phablet leaked: Specs, price, release date

South Korean giant is now prepping the launch of a mid-range smartphone with a surprisingly massive 7-inch display. The news came from renowned smartphone tipster Evan Blass, according to whom the smartphone will be called the Galaxy J Max.

With such a gigantic screen size, we are doubting whether it can even be called a smartphone. Though strange as it may sound, the smartphone-tablet hybrid is still categorized under smartphones due its rumored dual-SIM capabilities. It will also reportedly support GSM, HSDPA, and LTE.

A photo of the device’s back panel has also been shared by Evan Blass of what is claimed to be a press render. Looking at the image, one can clearly see the absence of the Smart Glow Ring. It’s a notification light system and the upcoming Galaxy J2 is believed to be the first smartphone to get this feature.

Dubbed as the ‘Smart Glow’, it lights up in different colors depending on the battery level, dialer status, weather alerts and health alerts like heart rate, blood pressure count and more. Going by the leaked press render, it appears the Galaxy J Max will not come equipped with this feature.

Looking at the smartphone catering to large screen sizes, we have Xiaomi’s latest which shares a similar name – the Mi Max – with a massive 6.44-inch display. The original Nexus 6 from Google rocked a 6-inch display, while the current-gen Nexus 6P features a 5.8-inch display.

Not much is known about the Galaxy J smartphone as of now, as other key specifications and release date still remain unknown. Though we expect more details of the handset being revealed as soon as the Galaxy J Max starts getting various certifications from different agencies along with Bluetooth and FCC certification. We’ll update you as soon as more details emerge, till then stay tuned to PC-Tablet for all the latest happenings in the world of technology.
