Honor Watch Magic

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has further expanded its wearable portfolio in India by launching Honor Watch Magic and Honor Band 4 Running Edition. Notably, both the products were unveiled alongside Honor View 20 in the country.

Honor Watch Magic

The Honor Watch Magic is crafted out of 316L grade stainless steel, with CNC machining and laser engraving on the body.  It sports a 1.2-inch HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 390×390 pixels and pixel density of 326ppi.

Moving further, the smartwatch is quite slim at 9.8mm and has 5ATM water resistance. Following the same, it can survive water submersion of up to 50 meters.

On the software terms, the Honor Watch Magic runs the company’s proprietary software instead of Wear OS. That being said, the watch can support both Android (4.4 or above) and iOS (9+) devices using its Bluetooth 4.2 LE.

The Watch incorporates nifty features like heart rate monitoring, swim stroke recognition, scientific sleep mode, call and message reminders, altitude barometer, and pressure monitor. You can also track daily activities, and continuously monitor sleep quality and heart-rate. Moreover, the presence of 3-satellite positioning helps achieve a faster and more accurate positioning in various sports mode.

A 178mAh battery backs all of this claimed to deliver a 7-day battery life. Also, Honor has used dual-chipset processor and AI-based low energy algorithm in the watch. This helps to recognise the usage and pattern of the user to save power.

As for customisations, users can switch between watch faces as per their convenience. Additional features include NFC support, GPS, GLONASS and more. The watch was first unveiled in China back in November 2018.

Note that it’s not a colour display like the one on the latter.

Besides, it has a dual wearing mode (foot and hand) backed by six-axis sensors to monitor and manage the running postures. In fact, the band is capable of measuring cadence, step length, ground contact time, foot strike pattern, landing impact, eversion excursion and swing angle. Other features include notifications for calls, SMS, and other applications.

Just like the Watch Magic, the Band 4 RE is water resistance for depths up to 50 metres. Furthermore, it is backed by a relatively smaller 77mAh battery, said to deliver up to 12 days of working time. Not to forget, the band lacks heart rate scanning and NFC support. Lastly, it measures 40.5 x 14.8 x 11.2mm and weighs quite light at a combined weight of 17 grams.
