Apple has mailed out media invites for a launch event code-named ‘hello again’ to be held on October 27, 10 AM at the Cupertino campus. According to reports coming in, the ‘hello again’ launch event will focus on the launch of new range of iMacs including the much-anticipated MacBook Pro. If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming MacBook Pro will offer redesigned features since 2012.
Even though Apple hasn’t specified the products that will be launched at the event, the company is expected to unveil refreshed iMacs with AMD graphics chips. Interestingly, the new graphics card will be released at the venue. Hence, you can expect a joint launch event by Apple and AMD.
New iMac to offer 5K retina display
There are reports that the new iMacs will provide support for 5K retina display. Moreover, Apple will integrate an alternative to the original Thunderbolt Display in the new iMacs.
In addition to iMacs, you can also expect the launch of refreshed MacBook Pro with a thin and lighter body. Moreover, the new laptop will have a pressure-sensitive trackpad and a flatter MacBook-style keyboard with the same butterfly key mechanism.
Expected to be available in the 13-inch and 15-inch display, the MacBook Pro will feature a USB Type-C port alongside USB 3.1 support for enhanced transfer speeds. You can also expect Thunderbolt 3 and Touch ID.
MacBook Pro with OLED touch panel
As rumored, the Touch ID will be embedded into a new OLED touch panel on the top of the MacBook Pro. The new panel will consist of contextual buttons that will change based on the app being used. The leaks suggest that the upcoming MacBook Pro will feature four USB-C ports and a headphone jack. However, the notebook will not offer an HDMI port and micro SD card slot.
Apple is also expected to release a new 13-inch MacBook Air with USB-C ports. The company will most likely discontinue the 11-inch variant. Going forward, you can expect MacBook laptops only above 13-inch based on latest technological trends.
