CyanogenMod 14.1 also known to be called as Android 7.1 will be rolled out to Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, OnePlus 3, LG G4, Xiaomi Mi4, LG G3 and others. Even though the development of CyanogenMod is bit slow as expected, the development continues to move ahead.
According to sources close to CyanogenMod team, the first nightly build of CM14.1 will be rolled out within few hours. However, it will not provide support to all major smartphones initially. In a blog post, Steve Kondik from CyanogenMod 14.1 product team disclosed that nearly dozen handsets will be getting the new build in the initial phase.
- angler (Nexus 6P)
- bullhead (Nexus 5X)
- cancro (Xiaomi Mi3w/Mi4)
- d855 (LG G3)
- falcon/peregrine/thea/titan (Moto G variants)
- h811/h815 (LG G4)
- klte/kltedv/kltespr/klteusc/kltevzw (Samsung Galaxy S5)
- oneplus3 (OnePlus 3)
- Z00L/Z00T (Zenphone 2)
If you have any of the above phones with an unlocked bootloader, you will be able to install the CM flavor of Android Nougat. The product team has welcomed filing of bug reports but they requested users not to file bugs for missing features since the build is a work in progress.
You can expect more handsets to be added to the above list over the upcoming weeks. If you are unable to find your gadget in the above list, you should probably wait for some time. You need to keep a close watch on the official CyanogenMod download page for future updates.
