Sony has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VII, blending advanced camera technology, high-quality audio, and a premium display. However, for many potential buyers, especially in the U.S., this device remains out of reach.
A Fusion of Sony’s Best Technologies
The Xperia 1 VII integrates features from Sony’s Alpha cameras, Bravia TVs, and Walkman audio systems. It boasts a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is 20% brighter than its predecessor and includes dual ambient light sensors for precise brightness and color adjustments.
Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 30W wired and 15W wireless charging, and promises up to two days of battery life.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the upgraded camera system. The Xperia 1 VII features a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with continuous optical zoom from 85mm to 170mm, and a new 48MP ultra-wide lens with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, offering improved low-light performance and minimal distortion.

Despite its impressive features, the Xperia 1 VII is not available in the U.S. market. Sony has confirmed its release in select European countries and the UK, priced at €1,499 and £1,399, respectively.
