Yu Televentures has launched its flagship Yunicorn in Rush Gold, Rush Silver and Graphite color variants at Rs. 12,999. Equipped with Android AOS (Android on Steroids) based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, 4GB RAM, and Helio P10 processor, the device will be available from Flipkart via flash sale, for which the registrations will begin from 2 PM on May 31.
Commenting on the release of Yunicorn, Rahul Sharma, Yu Chairman revealed that this smartphone is the second-most beautiful addition to his life since the device has got a gorgeous design and finish not available in other competing smartphones.
In his talk, Sharma elaborated on how Yu redefine flagships and also took the audience through the redefining moments of 2015. He disclosed that the company has so far only taken baby steps and it’s time to take a giant leap and named it as “Android on Steroids”.
On the specifications front, Yunicorn features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS 2.5D glass display, MTK Helio P10 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage including a highly sensitive fingerprint sensor, which ships with integrated chip-level security system with the ability to store up to five fingerprint profiles.
While the primary camera on the rear features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture paired with TrueBright dual-core ISP engine, Gesture, Picture-in-picture, PDAF, EIS, and slow motion, the front-facing shooter is integrated with a 5MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
The flagship device comes with DTS sound engine and a large battery capable of delivering a talk time of 20 hours on 3G. Equipped with an integrated search bar and vertical app drawer, the Android version included with Yunicorn is the purest form of Stock Android, adds Sharma.
Yunicorn will be available exclusively on Flipkart via flash sale for Rs. 12,999. According to company sources, this special price is valid only for one month and after that, the smartphone can be grabbed at Rs. 14,999. The retail price, however, is Rs. 17,999. The first flash sale will offer 10% cashbask for SBI users; registrations for the flash sale begins at 2PM on May 31.
