Xiaomi is expected to announce a couple of phones in the coming months. These include the likes of the Mi Max 3 as well as the Mi Mix 3. Though it appears the Chinese manufacturer is working on a brand new smartphone range. As a new FCC filing has revealed another Xiaomi handset, dubbed as the POCOPHONE. Sources indicate it’ll be a new flagship from the “POCOPHONE” sub-brand recently trademarked by Xiaomi.
Apart from the POCOPHONE brand name, the FCC filing has also revealed the handset’s model number which happens to be M1805E10A. The listing also suggests that the handset will be offered in two variants. The filing reveals that both models will have 6GB of RAM, but they’ll differ in terms of storage. One of them will come with 64GB of built-in storage, while the other will have 128GB of built-in storage. Going by the FCC filing, it appears the POCOPHONE could be a top-end handset.
In other related news, XDA have found a bunch of firmware files for a flagship-grade Xiaomi device that goes by the codename ‘Berillyium’. The report further notes that the device will be exclusively released for the Indian market. As for evidence of its exclusive launch in India, XDA found something in the camera app, specifically, an option called “isIndiaBeautyFilter.
Rumoured specifications of the device include the latest Snapdragon 845 processor paired with Adreno 630 GPU.
Elsewhere, the device is said to come with a notched display having an aspect ratio of 18:9. Also, the handset is said to come with a 4000mAh battery and run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
