WeChat instant messenger receives gaming support in India

Similar to LINE and Viber, instant messaging application WeChat also stickers with messages. WeChat is the second most downloaded app on the Apple store in India, with a wide number of user base. Expand futher, the social communication application WeChat would be featuring a gaming service, sitting alongside the mobile messaging app.

The service believes that having users engaged in games will help company monetize via  in-app game purchases. The new service currently offer four games – Gunz DAsh, 2Days’ Match, Craz3 Match and Pencil Pilot via WeChat accounts. The games are absolutely free to download, involving in-app purchases.

If you are a WeChat user, you can find the Game Center placed under the ‘Discover’ tab of the messaging service. Users will need to click the ‘download’ button, which takes a user to specific game in the App Store.

The games can be played either in solo or with your WeChat friends. Featuring location-based service, WeChat allow users to interact and share score with their contacts in the vicinity. The company also announced the tie-up with AskMe search service to offer location-based local searches.

“AskMeSearch official account will allow WeChat users to enjoy free location specific, text based local searches on their smartphones anywhere while they are using WeChat,” Nilay Arora, Vice-President (Marketing and Business Development) of 10c India Internet Private Ltd, WeChat India, said.
