Vivo V5 Plus with dual front moonlight LED flash camera launched in India

Vivo V5s 5

Vivo has launched the flagship V5 Plus smartphone with a dual front-facing shooter in India at Rs. 27980. Dubbed to be the higher-level model to the previously launched Vivo V5, the Vivo V5 Plus focuses mainly on the audio and camera functionalities. The Vivo V5 Plus can be pre-ordered from January 24 with estimated shipping from February 1.

Like the V5, the V5 Plus handset flaunts a massive 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor front-facing shooter alongside f/2.0 aperture. The highlight of the camera is the addition of a moonlight LED flash. However, the Vivo V5 Plus will be equipped with a secondary 8MP front camera that helps in enhanced depth sensing.

Vivo V5 Plus dual front camera offers a depth-of-field effect

During the launch, Vivo disclosed that the dual front camera creates a depth-of-field effect. It enables you to keep the faces sharp while creating a beautifully blurred background. Moreover, the front-camera is enhanced by digital optical algorithms to generate an amazing bokeh effect.

By default, the Vivo V5 Plus will shoot selfies using the 20MP camera. The newly included 8MP sensor will be in action only when you hit a dedicated bokeh mode option included on the top of the camera app.

The front camera works by keeping your face in focus while blurring the background. This will create a shallow depth of field effect in photos. You can also focus and refocus the core shooting object after clicking a shot. Furthermore, the dual front camera system is also capable of shooting panorama photos with the capability of recording FHD videos.

When it comes to rear, the Vivo V5 Plus bears a 16MP camera with support for Phase Detection Autofocus coupled with a single LED flash. It also provides a capability to record 4K videos with additional features such as time-lapse and slow-motion videos.

Vivo V5 Plus specifications

On the specifications front, the Vivo V5 Plus features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS curved 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal storage. The disadvantage of the phone is that you will not be able to extend the storage.

Powered by a 3055mAh fast charging battery, the Vivo V5 Plus is loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Funtouch OS 3.0. This is disappointing since Android 7.0 Nougat is already available. Vivo should provide an update to Nougat within the next one month to accelerate the sales ahead of Samsung Galaxy S8 launch.

Designed with a full-metal body, the Vivo V5 Plus also incorporates a fingerprint sensor, which will be capable of unlocking the phone in 0.2 seconds.

Moreover, the handset ships with an AK4376 dedicated Hi-Fi audio chip which provides an unparalleled sound quality. The phone provides a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 115Db, which is excellent when compared to other competing smartphones.
