Vivo V11 Pro first impressions

Vivo V11 Pro 2

After weeks of speculations and leaks, Vivo finally unveiled the Vivo V11 Pro on September 6th. The V11 Pro sits above the V9 and is essentially an upper mid-range smartphone from Vivo. The phone has been launched in a single RAM/Memory configuration in the market and is priced at INR 25,990. The phone feels sturdy and stylish especially when it comes to the ‘Starry Night’ color. We have been using the V11 Pro for approximately four days and here’s our experience so far.

Design and Display

The front of the Vivo V11 Pro features a 6.41-inch display with a waterdrop notch. The notch houses the sensors and front-facing camera and the earpiece are cleverly placed above the notch, making it almost invisible. The display here is Super AMOLED with the 4th generation In-Display Fingerprint Scanner hidden underneath it.

The V11 Pro is available in two colors – Dazzling Gold and the eye-popping Starry Night. We tested the Starry Night variant which has a gradient effect and changes colors whenever light hits the back.

The back also houses the Dual-Lens rear camera setup placed vertically, and the LED flash underneath. The buttons are placed on the right side with the triple slot tray on the left. The bottom of the phone houses the 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB port, and speaker.

Performance

The performance has been smooth so far with no noticeable hiccups or lags. The Vivo V11 Pro is being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 which is capable of pushing the phone through pretty much everything that is thrown at it. The OS feels fluid, thanks to the 6 GB RAM that Vivo managed to put in.

The final verdict on the performance aspect will be given after we have used the smartphone for an extended period.

Camera

Vivo has used a Dual-Lens rear camera setup backed by Dual-Pixel technology on the V11 Pro with the main camera being a 12-megapixel sensor which is assisted with a 5-megapixel sensor. The camera seems promising for the price with good color reproduction and dynamic range.

Vivo has gone ahead and added a 25-megapixel camera on the front for those crisp and detailed selfies. AI makes a return here as well with extra features like Beauty Mode and Selfie Portraits.

The camera seems perfect for the price, but we will reserve the final comments for the detailed review.

Final Thoughts

The Vivo V11 Pro seems like a very decent offering considering the price. The phone looks gorgeous with the bigger display, the newly designed notch along with the gradient back. The build seems sturdy, and the cameras will give you good results.

We’ll be doing an in-depth review of the Vivo V11 Pro in the coming days, so stay tuned for that.
