Vast Space, a California-based company, has revealed its ambitious design for Haven-2, a commercial space station intended to succeed the International Space Station (ISS). This announcement, timed with the International Astronautical Congress in Milan on October 14th, 2024, marks a significant step towards the future of private space exploration and commercialization.
Vast Space plans to propose Haven-2 to NASA as part of the agency’s program to transition from the ISS to commercially operated space stations. The company aims to deploy Haven-2 in segments, starting in the late 2020s, ensuring a continued human presence in low-Earth orbit. Haven-2: Building on the Success of Haven-1
