The Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings’ brand Tecno Mobile on Thursday unveiled two new smartphones under its Spark series for India. Dubbed as Tecno Spark Go and Tecno Spark 4 Air, both the entry-level phones tout a dot-notch display, AI face unlock and Helio A22 processor.
Tecno Spark Go Specs & Features
The Tecno Spark Go comes with a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The panel further boasts of 85 per cent screen-to-body ratio and a peak brightness of 450nits.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 processor, clocked at 2.0GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. That said, the storage can be expanded further using a dedicated microSD card (up to 256GB).
In the camera department, the Tecno Spark Go offers a single 8-megapixel AI camera with f/2.0 aperture. The camera also bears Night Algorithm 2.0 and dual-flash, followed by nifty features including Portrait Mode, HDR, Night Mode, and pro mode. In the front, the phone gets a 5-megapixel AI camera with a micro slit front flash for selfies. It features AI Beauty Mode, Portrait Mode, in-built AR Stickers and Wide Selfie Mode.
The phone runs HiOS 5.0 based on Android 9 Pie and packs a 3,000mAh battery. Talking of which, the device is claimed to last up to 9.8 hours of video playback, 7.6 hours of Web browsing, 10 hours of calling or 12.4 hours of music playback. For unlocking the device, you get an AI-based face unlock with screen fill-light feature support.
Tecno Spark Air 4 Specs & Features
Similar to its younger sibling, the Tecno Spark 4 Air gets a 6.1-inch HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It also boasts of 1000:1 contrast ratio, 85 per cent screen to body ratio and 450 nits brightness.
Powering the phone at its core is the quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Just like the Spark Go, storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
For photography, the Tecno Spark Air 4 comes with a category-first dual-lens camera sporting a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. There’s also a VGA second camera, followed by dual-flash support. As for the camera features, the phone offers Portrait Mode, HDR, Night Mode, and professional camera settings to improve the overall photography experience. For selfies, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter with features similar to the Spark Go.
On the software front, the phone runs HiOS 5.0 on top of Android 9.0 Pie. A 3,000mAh battery backs all of this. Compared to the Spark Go, the Spark Air 4 also features an anti-oil fingerprint scanner at the rear. That being said, both the phones feature triple slots and offer 4G VoLTE in both the SIM slots at the same time.
Price, Availability and Launch Offers
The Tecno Spark Go, being the cheaper of two, is priced at Rs. 5,499 for the only model with 2/16GB configuration. The Tecno Spark Air 4, on the other hand, will retail for Rs. 6,999 with 3/32GB RAM and storage configuration.
The devices would be available across 35,000+ offline retail stores across the country, in Nebula Black and Royal Purple color options, with sales starting September 2. As for the launch offers, the Tecno Spark Go buyers will be getting Bluetooth earpiece worth Rs. 799 as a freebie. The company is also offering 100 days’ free replacement, a one-time screen replacement with a 1-year validity, and one-month extended warranty with the devices.
