‘Star Trek: Bridge Crew’ VR Game from Ubisoft coming this Fall

Star Trek Bridge Crew

According to reports, the first virtual reality enabled Star Trek game code named “Star Trek: Bridge Crew”, will be available during the fall of 2016. The game will be compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR headsets.

Touted to provide an amazing virtual experience, Star Trek: Bridge Crew promises to deliver stunning visuals coupled with effects and filters. Even though we have seen Star Trek command games in the past with Artemis allowing us to play with friends, the upcoming Bridge Crew will provide a similar experience in the VR.

The upcoming “Star Trek: Bridge Crew” revolves around JJ Abrams movie universe, where you and your friends will crew a starship called the Aegis. The ultimate mission is to find a suitable new home for the Vulcans and the plot mainly involves exploration and cooperation. Sometimes, you will be forced to prepare for combat during the gaming process.

Derrik Lang, entertainment writer associated with a reputed media house, took to Twitter to announce that the relevant StarTrek actors are all set to entertain users via VR game and posted an image with VR headsets on the actors head.

Meanwhile, the stars from various “Trek” editions gathered during the first week of June to experiment with Oculus Rift headsets. They also performed for a promotional video for the game, which will be launched at the Electronic Entertainment Expo on Monday.

Commenting on the release of Star Trek: Bridge Crew, David Votypka, senior creative director at Red Storm revealed that people will initially think you are just pushing buttons but it’s the buttons which make the game interesting. Votypka confirmed that you will be boarding a Federation starship firing torpedoes, raising shields in addition to activation of the red alert.

The “Star Trek: Bridge Crew” game makes use of a VR headset and hand-held controllers to imitate seated player’s heads and hands on the virtual bridge appearing on the game. This will enable users to provide a 360-degree gaming experience. Moreover, you will also be able to complete a wide range of tasks such as warp drive activation, foreign objects scanning in space including telecasting relevant imagery to the display of the ship.
