Sony launches MDR series earphones and headphones

Sony India, today has launched two new headphones and two earphones in the H.ear series. These earphones and headphones have completely revamped the audio segment that we are so used to see from Sony. H.ear is a mix of hear and ear, which is very apt as the high-resolution audio brings all your favourite tunes so much closer to the true sound that the artist intended to deliver originally.

“H.ear on” headband-type headphones, “H.ear in NC” Noise Cancelling (NC) earphones and “H.ear in” in-ear headphones are the new range of stylish earphones and headphones that are compatible with high-resolution audio.

These headphones are very high on the glamour quotient and are available in many deep shades ranging from Viridian Blue, Cinnabar Red, Charcoal Black, Lime Yellow to Bordeaux Pink.

The new MDR-EX750AP earphone is the cheapest option available, priced at Rs. 6,990. Then comes the Sony MDR-EX750NA earphone that is priced at Rs. 9,990. The MDR-100AAP and MDR-XB950BT are the two new headphones and are priced at Rs. 12,990.

The MDR-XB950BT may sound familiar as it is making a re-entry into the Indian market, this time in red colour. The MDR-100AAP and MDR-EX750AP both are available in 5 colours, viridian blue, cinnabar red, charcoal black, lime yellow and Bordeaux Pink.

All these headphones are pretty unique in their features and functionality. The MDR-100AAP has a 40 mm high definition driver that Sony claims can reproduce sounds up to 60 KHz. The CCAW voice coils yield very high linearity response when dealing with sounds that are high-pitched.

According to the company, the titanium-coated diaphragms can produce crystal clear sound while minimising most of the vibrations.

The overall design of this headphone is both unique and functional. It has a foldable mechanism that is easily detachable and also features a cross-talk reducing cable that is in the same colour scheme. A carry pouch is also offered by Sony.

The MDR-EX750NA earphones have got noise cancelling abilities and has a 9 mm driver that is capable of reproducing frequencies up to 40 KHz. The key feature of these earphones are the noise cancellation microphones. It also has a built-in Lithium-ion battery that the company claims can provide 16 hours of music playback. This battery can be charged via microUSB.

The unique feature of the MDR-EX750AP lies in the four wire ground separate cable that is used to cut any form of interference that may occur between the left and right sounds. These earphones have a 9mm driver and are coated with OFC material that is responsible for reducing the signal transmission loss.

Finally, the MDR–XB950BT are extra bass wireless headphones that are Bluetooth and NFC. Sony claims that with 4 hours of charge, these headphones can stay powered for 20 hours.
