Samsung may be set to release its new Galaxy Tab A 7.0 around March or April this year. reportedly, the new tablet would bear the model number SM-T280 and have a 1.3GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and a 7” screen.
The tablet is expected to be available in black among other colors and will have a 4G compatible variant with the model number (SM-T285).
Earlier last year, Samsung launched a custom model with a 9.6” screen for the US carrier ‘US Cellular’ and another modified version of an 8” screen in Taiwan appeared earlier this January.
The new tablet will have a powerful 4,000mAh battery and will run on the Android Lollipop 5.1 platform. Considering that this is expected to be a mid-segment device, we anticipate it will cost you around INR 10,000 to INR 15,000.
The Galaxy Tab A with the 9.6” screen was well accepted in the USA considering it provided great ease to multitask on a larger screen and have two apps open side by side. Knowing that the smaller 7” version of the phone will pack the same hardware, it is yet to be seen if it will be as ‘BIG’ a hit as its bigger cousin.
Since Samsung has not officially confirmed that they are devising Galaxy Tab A 7.0, you should consider most of the information you read as being directive-lead and subject to speculation.
