Every year around February-March, the smartphone industry goes crazy over what’s new on the world’s most talked-about Android phone, Samsung Galaxy S series. The flagship series from the Korean electronic giant just keeps getting better every year with new technologies and smart features.
This year around, rumors have already started weighing in about the next version of Galaxy S phone, Samsung Galaxy S6. According to trusted sources, the new phone will feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, which is a massive 577ppi pixel density protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will feature a 64-bit supported octa-core SoC. There is no words on how much RAM the phone will have though earlier rumors suggested that it may pack 4 GB of RAM. According to various sources who couldn’t confirm the news, Samsung may use an Exynos 7420 chip for the 3G model of Samsung Galaxy S6 and a Snapdragon 810 chipset for the 4G variant of the flagship device.
There is even bigger surprise on the camera end. The phone is said to have an enormous 20-megapixel camera on the rear with optical image stabilization. The front camera will have 5 megapixel. The same source says that the phone will come in three models in terms of storage: 32 GB, 64 GB, and a massive 128 GB model.
To power these high-end technologies, the phone is said to have 2550 mAh battery, which can be charged wirelessly thanks to the built-in wireless charging feature the Galaxy S6 will supposedly have. A Quick connect charging feature will enable users to get 4 hours of battery life out of 10 minutes of charging, which can be extremely useful for various situations.
Following the new design philosophy that Samsung initiated last year, Samsung may be designing the exterior of Galaxy S6 with metallic and glass body. However, sources indicate that unlike Samsung Galaxy S5, the regular version of Galaxy S6 will not be dust and water resistant. Those features will be kept exclusive only to the Active version of the flagship device.
It isn’t too early to talk about these specifications and features of Samsung’s upcoming beast as a source citing a Samsung executive said that the phone will officially debut on March 2 in Mobile World Congress, due in Barcelona.
