2017 Renault Clio facelift revealed: Features, price, availability details

An update of the Clio, Renault’s Corsa and Fiesta rival, has been revealed by the French automaker Renault, and the hatchback will arrive in the coming October in the UK. This revision features updated styling and equipment levels with revised engines and quality improvements.

The 2017 Renault Clio includes C-shaped daytime running lights along with LED lighting. The grille has also been redesigned and is wider now, complimenting a restyled rear bumper. The new wheel and its trim designs play well along with the extensive personalization program.

Inside, it is more about the adoption of more upmarket chrome trim and soft-touch materials seen in cars higher up the range, such as the Megane and Talisman, along with a choice of three infotainment systems. Along with the R&Go smartphone application, there will be R-Link Evolution, Media Nav Evolution and satellite navigation on a central touchscreen display. Some models are said to have front parking sensors and a reversing camera with an all new autonomous parking function.

The cabin will have new and better-looking upholstery, which is supposed to go easy on the eyes. There will be three multimedia options in the new Renault Clio: Renault R-Link Evolution, smart R&GO, and Media Nav Evolution.

As far as the engine is concerned, it will be a 108bhp 1.5-litre diesel, and the existing TCe 120 petrol engine gets a six-speed manual transmission. The company has added four new color tones – Titanium Grey, Mars Red, Arctic White and Iron Blue.

Price and specs haven’t been made public yet, but it’s fair to assume that there will be a small hike on the starting price of £11,145 to make it something in the price bracket of £11,500. That would make it around £1,000 more expensive than the £10,345 Ford Fiesta, nearly £2,000 more than the £9,595 Vauxhall Corsa (its closest competitors). These details are likely to be released by the end of next month.

The release date for other countries including India has not been made public, yet. But it is expected to launch shortly after the UK launch.
