Android 7.0 Nougat (CyanogeMod 14.1) update is out for the latest OnePlus smartphone, but there’s a catch. You need to root your smartphone and install it to run Android Nougat. Though we have shared a guide with you to install the update, you can wait for it till 2016 end to get an OTA update.
The report came from Engadget which stated that OnePlus will release community beta later this month, while the OTA update will release by year end. Other OnePlus smartphones are expected to receive OTA update by next year.
OnePlus 3 has been the flagship of the year. Its high-end specs at low price point makeĀ it a better pick over other pricey phones in the market. The news about CyanogenMod 14.1 update has come from Android Police.
Android Nougat Features
Android 7.0 brings in a slew of features including customisation, an improved UI, and better battery. The Doze mode has been tweaked so that your phone gets into sleep when not in use; hence saving battery. Users can reply to the messages directly from the Notification panel without the need to open the app. Also, there is split screen functionality in Android Nougat that allows you to open two windows at the same time.
OnePlus will soon launch another smartphone possibly OnePlus 3T or OnePlus 4. It is speculated to feature Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB of non-expandable storage and a 3000mAh battery. The phone will come pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat.
