Microsoft unveils Smart City Initative

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, at the “Future Unleashed” event, announced that the company will be partnering with three e-commerce players Justdial, Paytm and Snapdeal to “power their engines of innovation and help Indian governments and organisations to explore uncharted business areas and enrich citizen and customer experiences.

For those who are not aware, Justdial is an Indian Company that provides largely classified service where the users get the needed information regarding any product or services from a common number. The listed businesses are then communicated via email or SMS. Whereas, Paytm is an Indian E-commerce site that launched as a medium of recharging mobile and DTH services. And, Snapdeal is an online marketplace.

Justdial and Microsoft will explore the use of Bing and cloud-based analytics to provide and enhance customer experience.

All these websites have been expanding a lot in the recent years. Snapdeal has been expanding most unconventionally, with its recent foray into the automobile industry; it has shown its capability to grow.

As for Paytm, this is fairly new e-commerce website but for sure, it is garnering lots of attention and fan base with its services and exciting offers.
