LG G5 release date and price in India announced, pre-booking starts on Flipkart

South Korean manufacturer LG has put its latest flagship, the modular G5, on pre-booking on Flipkart exclusively. Coming at a whopping price of Rs. 52,990, the device can be booked before 30th of this month. There is a limited period offer with the pre-bookings that gives a free modular camera add-on, LG Cam Plus.

With the price close to the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7 series, this phone offers many features, making it a serious threat to them.

The Cam Plus that comes free with the device is an add-on that acts as more than a grip for clicking pictures. It has buttons to operate the camera, thus creating a hassle-free experience of clicking pictures (absolutely trumps its competitors in this case).

The other modular accessories include the LG Charging Cradle and the LG 360VR. Although, their prices are yet to be listed in India.

Besides the modular features, the G5 comes with specs that do justify the price to a certain extent.

Specifications:

  • 5.3-inch Quad HD Display
  • 16 MP rear camera with a 78-degree lens and a 135-degree wide angle lens (can click amazing landscape pictures)
  • 8 MP front camera
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor
  • 4GB Ram
  • 32 GB expandable storage
  • 2,800 mAh battery
  • USB Type-C connector
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The pre-ordered devices are expected to be delivered by 4th of June.

LG may not be the biggest name in the smartphone business, but this phone is one of a kind (until Google’s Project Ara comes out), and has the potential to raise the market share of the company. The initial user feedbacks will surely be interesting.
