Both the smartphones are exclusively available on Flipkart under a price tag of INR 3,499 and INR 4,499 respectively. So, today we are up to the review of the Me5 handset.

Unboxing

The handset comes in dark yellow sleek box. Inside the box, you will find a handset, two pin power adapter, a USB cable and an earphone with inbuilt mic. The quality of the earphone seems to be bit flimsy and low quality.

Design and Build Quality

The iVOOMi Me5 has a good built quality considering the price point. The front of the device adheres 5 inches 720p display with 2.5D curved glass and 3 capacitive touch button at the bottom. On the bottom left of the device, there is mic while on the top of the screen there is earpiece and adjacent to that on the left side there is 5MP front facing camera.

The back of the phone is made of a plastic with a clean matte finish giving the handset a decent look. On the top, there is 8MP camera module with a single LED flash and the bottom of the phone has a speaker grill. Nonetheless, under the hood phone contain a dual Sim slot which was situated apart, a microSD card slot and 3000mAh battery wrapped around by a white plastic sticker with iVOOMi branding on it.

Performance

The iVOOMi Me5 is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core SC 9832 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The combination provides decent performance and good multitasking capabilities. The transition between switching the apps is quite smooth. The phone has an HD display which offers a good viewing angle and decent sunlight legibility. The UI is based on stock Android 7.0 and it performs fairly well as it provides seamless UI experience across all the functionality aspect. The smartphone has a 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

The iVOOMi Me5 featured with a useful app like QuickTouch which act as shortcut Home screen key which contains the group of useful apps like Camera, Screenshot, Booster, and Alarm etc. The handset is fuelled by 3000mAh of Li-ion battery which performs reasonably well under heavy uses. The device can easily provide full day battery backup under the normal uses. While charging the battery from 0 to 100% take about 4 hours.

Camera

The iVOOMi Me5 is packed with an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. The rear camera performance was above average, the output image is in 4:3 aspect ratio and its overall image quality is not that crisp, detailing is above average and color saturation is not up to the mark. The camera is packed many features like ZSL(Zero Shutter Lag) and Freeze-frame display which is good to see low-cost handset. Further, the camera is also featured with modes like Auto, Manual, Burst, Panorama, and Vgesture etc.

Nonetheless, the front 5MP front camera is decent enough to provide good pictures in daylight, but in low-light, it will be led you down. The front shooter is equipped with modes and features like Auto, manual, burst in order to use these modes you have swipe from left to right on the camera UI. While swiping from left to right you will filter like Sunlight, Blue, Sweet, and Coffee etc

Verdict

Considering the price point, this is a fine phone which offers good value for money proposition. But you cannot expect out of the world experience from this entry level smartphone. It has a decent build quality, good display, average camera setup and fine battery back up with pure stock Android experience. All in all, it is a worthy contender under INR 5000 price bracket.
