Is Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge the Slimmest Flagship Yet

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, 2025, at 9 AM KST (5:30 AM IST), marking its slimmest flagship smartphone to date. The device will be introduced during a virtual Unpacked event, with live streaming available on Samsung’s YouTube channel.

Design and Display

The Galaxy S25 Edge boasts a remarkably thin profile of 5.85mm and weighs just 163 grams. This sleek design is achieved through the use of tandem OLED display technology, which eliminates the need for a backlight, allowing for a thinner and lighter device without compromising on display quality.

The smartphone features a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. The back panel is reinforced with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the device is framed with titanium, enhancing its durability.

Performance and Hardware

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of RAM. It offers storage options of 256GB and 512GB. The device runs on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 interface.

Camera Capabilities

Despite its slim design, the Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with a 200MP main camera featuring an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. It also includes a 12MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, the device offers a 12MP front-facing camera.

Battery and Charging

The smartphone houses a 3,900mAh battery, supporting 25W wired charging. While the battery capacity is smaller compared to other models in the S25 series, the device’s power efficiency is optimized through its processor and software enhancements.

Additional Features

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It is available in three color options: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Icy Blue.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be priced between $1,100 and $1,300, positioning it between the Galaxy S25+ and the S25 Ultra. While the official launch is on May 13, the device is anticipated to be available in select markets, including South Korea and China, by May 23, with a global release following on May 30.
