Garmin Instinct

After two months of global launch, the wearable giant Garmin has now finally launched its Garmin Instinct smartwatch in India. Garmin Instinct is a rugged smartwatch cum fitness tracker explicitly built for outdoor adventures.

We are excited to introduce Instinct as India’s first ‘lifestyle watch’ for the people who wish to have an approachable smartwatch that is rugged and reliable,” said Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager-Garmin India, during the launch.

Garmin Instinct Features and Specifications

The Garmin Instinct sports a 0.9-inch monochrome display in a circular dial with the resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. The watch makes use of a transflective display. Hence, it can be viewed under the bright sun without any issues whatsoever, just like the Amazfit Bip & Pace.

The body of the Instinct smartwatch is crafted out of fibre-reinforced polymer. Being based on military-grade 810G standards, it gets thermal, shock and water resistant (up to 10 ATM) capabilities. The company further touts that the display is chemically-strengthened and scratch-resistant.

Sensors on the watch include 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter and multiple global navigation satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo). The dedicated GPS allows the user to track his/her location and get a projection map of the route they’ve travelled so far.

The watch also incorporates a Heart rate sensor along with other health features like sleep tracking. Furthermore, it offers multiple sports modes like running, climbing, cycling, swimming, skiing, rowing, weightlifting, yoga and much more.

The Garmin Instinct can be paired with smartphones running Android and iOS with the Garmin Connect app. Once connected, you’ll be able to receive notifications from your smartphone. It also packs in a “Smart Reply” feature, exclusive to Android platform.

The Garmin Instinct can last to up to 14 days in smartwatch mode while limiting to a mere 16 hours on GPS mode. There’s also an UltraTrac mode that switches GPS occasionally to save power. Note that the watch lacks NFC and doesn’t support contactless payments.

Garmin Instinct Price in India

The Garmin Instinct price has been set at Rs. 26,990 in India. The watch will be sold in Tundra, Graphite and Flame Red colour options across Garmin’s authorised stores, selected Helios stores, Amazon India and PaytmMall.
