The global lifestyle accessories giant Fossil Group on Monday unveiled seven next-gen touchscreen smartwatches in India. That too under six different brands which include Skagen, Diesel, Michael Kors, Emporio Armani and Armani Exchange apart from Fossil itself.
Starting at Rs. 19,995, the just unveiled range of smartwatches comprises Skagen Falster 2; Diesel Full Guard; Michael Kors Access Runway; Emporio Armani Connected; and A|X Armani Exchange Connected, in addition to the Fossil branded Gen 4 Smartwatch Venture HR and Explorist HR.
All the seven smartwatches in this new line-up run Google’s WearOS and are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform.
Other evident features include magnetic charging, Bluetooth technology, wireless syncing, untethered GPS, swim-proof functionality, and up to 24 hours of battery life. Sensors like a dedicated heart rate sensor, GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light and microphone are given onboard.
The watches are compatible with iOS 9.3+ and Android 4.4+ (excluding Go edition). Furthermore, the watch faces, as well as the straps, are changeable.
“With the launch of next generation of smartwatches, we have amplified the technological features on the wrist while maintaining our aesthetically fashioned designs, creating an experienced individual to each consumer”, said Johnson Verghese, Managing Director.
Looking at the customer needs and demands, the Heart Rate functionality was given a special provision among other features. Following the same, the dial integrates heart rate monitor, to show users beats per minute on the watch face.
Gautam Sharma, Vice President Brand Strategy-APAC, mentioned, “Since our entry into the smartwatch market three years ago, it has been Fossil’s mission to meld technology and design.”
The freshly introduced Untethered GPS feature allows users to track walks and runs, hikes, bike rides and more via Google Fit and certain third-party fitness apps. Moreover, the watches are also equipped with swim-proof functionality. It will help users track swim workouts, said the company.
