Datsun Redi-GO, whose 1-liter variant model was recently unveiled for the Indian market, is expected to come with an additional Retro-Fitted CNG by the end of this financial year. As disclosed by Jerome Saigot, VP Datsun India, the engine of Datsun Redi-GO is compatible with CNG and the company is planning to re-launch the vehicle with an additional retro-fitted CNG by the end of March 2018.
While giving his statement to ETAuto, Jerome Saigot said, covering the engine of the petrol-fuelled hatchback – the Datsun Redi-GO into a CNG-fuelled sedan will not be risky at all, and if customers demand, the company is ready to produce a CNG-fitted variant of this popular hatchback. Currently, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is available in both petrol and CNG variants, while the Hyundai Eon is being presented in LPG trim as well.
And the introduction of the Datsun 1 litre Redi-GO, retrofitted with CNG will be a significant step for the Datsun, the subsidiary of Nissan. With the partnership with Renault’s Kwid, providing the AMT variant now, the Redi-GO AMT version will soon hit the market, may be by the end of the current financial year, confirmed the senior official of Datsun India.
Regarding features and specification, the game-changer Datsun redi-GO 1.0L is equipped with a range of power-packed features and promised to deliver excellent performance. With the range starting from Rs 3, 57,333 (ex-showroom India), the 1L three-cylinder-fuelled Dutsun Redi-GO has been launched in variants. It is powered by the Intelligent Spark Automated Technology which automatically adjusts the spark timing of the car to fuel quality as well as power requirement.
It is also integrated with a five-speed manual transmission, and an Intuitive I-Sat Engine helps the hatchback deliver optimum speed. The booking for the car has already been started by the company two weeks before, and up to now, the response for the car has been extremely good so far.
