ASUS has unveiled an upgraded variant of the company’s flagship ZenFone 3 Deluxe at the Hong Kong and Taiwan launch event today. This smartphone is the first officially announced smartphone in the world to be powered by the brand new Snapdragon 821.
The ZenFone 3 Deluxe will be available in three variants with prices ranging from 500 USD for the base model to 780 USD for the top-of-the-line model.
The base variant comes with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM with 32 GB of storage space. It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor with two high-performance Kyro cores running at 2.15 GHz each and two power efficient Kyro cores running at 1593 MHz each combined with Adreno 530 GPU clocked at 624 MHz. This variant costs around 500 USD. Another variant sports 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, also powered by the same Snapdragon 820. The price of this model is around 560 USD.

The top-of-the-line ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe comes with 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and a whopping 256 GB UFS 2.0 powered internal memory, which is further expandable up to 128 GB by adding a microSD card into the second SIM card slot. This is the world’s first smartphone to sport a Snapdragon 821 processor with four Kyro cores, two of which are clocked at 2.4 GHz and the other two at 2.0 GHz. The graphics department is handled by the Adreno 530 GPU running at 650 MHz. This model is priced about 780 USD.
All of the variants comes with a Gorilla Glass 4 covered 1080p Full-HD Super AMOLED display, which can be fluently operated even wearing gloves. These smartphones come with a rear 23 MP Laser Auto-Focus camera with OIS, f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone flash. The front camera is an 8 MP unit with the same f/2.0 aperture size.
The handsets also come with a fingerprint sensor situated at the back of the device. A Quick Charge 3.0 enabled 3000mAH battery powers the devices which even packs in NFC and dual sim support. The entire range comes with official Google’s Daydream VR certification.
The ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe series will be up for sale in Hong Kong and Taiwan from the next month itself, although the top-end model powered by the Snapdragon 821 is presumed to arrive a little later.
