Apple iPhone 7 confirmed to have 32GB storage as default: Release date and features

Even though the official launch of iPhone 7 is four months away, the rumor mills are already exploring the possible specifications and features which will be likely infused to the device.

The latest rumor is that the upcoming iPhone will not be called iPhone 7, but would be a phone from iPhone 6 family only. This news is completely different from the other recent developments that speak of a new iPhone 7 lineup – iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro.

iPhone 7 to have 32GB default internal storage

As per other rumors, the forthcoming iPhone 7 from Cupertino-based tech giant will feature a massive internal storage of 256GB, as per a report released by an IHS Technology analyst.

Apple fans have been complaining heavily about the shortage of storage space especially with the availability of plenty of iOS apps including the occupation of plenty of pictures and FHD videos. Moreover, it is not possible to upgrade the storage in iPhones. Hence, the integration of 256GB storage chip into the internals of the iPhone will certainly appeal Apple fans and those customers who crave for more storage.

According to a leading tech news portal, Apple is planning to make 32GB as default in iPhone 7 and will ditch 16GB variants. Even though there is no official confirmation about the pricing of 256GB storage mode, we expect that the device will be priced at a higher level.

iPhone 7 to boast dual-camera system

In addition to the massive storage space, the upcoming iPhone 7 will bear a dual-camera system and major design modifications. It is expected that the device will have borderless curved edges, slightly thinner body, redesigned antenna lines, and new camera components. There is also a possibility of VR support in camera to enable customers to capture stunning VR videos without using an external camera.

A report by Apple Insider on 7th of June says that Apple has been granted the patent for liquid resistant speaker ports and ‘bone conduction’ technology for their earphones that promise to take noise cancellation to a whole new level. This is surely another attempt by the company to stay on top in the technology market.

iPhone 7 Specs: 2GB RAM/3GB RAM

On the specifications front, the iPhone 7 will feature 2GB RAM including a larger display with 3GB RAM. There are unconfirmed reports that Apple will also launch a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 in addition to a 5-inch, 5.5-inch, and a massive 6-inch variant.

Apple will likely integrate a rear dual-camera system for all models from 5.5-inch display onwards. Moreover, Apple will also drop the headphone jack to pave the way for Bluetooth wireless or lightning port connections for audio output.

Along with iPhone 7, Apple will also launch iOS 10.1 and Apple Watch 2. As per rumors floating on the web, the iPhone 8 expected to be available in 2017 will bear all-glass metal unibody design.

If the reports are to be believed, we might not see the Space Grey variant of Apple iPhone 7 this time. The company may be planning to get rid of the “Space Gray” color and bring in “Deep Blue” in the upcoming iPhone 7.

IHS has a great track record when it comes to Apple rumor predictions. They had indicated the possibility of a 5-inch iPhone launch in 2016 and it obviously transpired into reality with the launch of iPhone SE. You can expect the launch of iOS 10 at WWDC on June 13. If not launched, then you can expect it along with iPhone 7 launch event in September.
