The Lenovo-backed Motorola is expected to launch its next mid-range flagship Moto G7 by the next year and while that seems too far, the phone has already appeared on FCC, giving a possible hint for its early arrival.
This upcoming Moto phone will succeed the G6 that came earlier this year and has been into the market since past seven months. The FCC listing reveals the model of the device to be XT1965-2. However, it doesn’t disclose anything specific about the handset, except for the fact that it will be sold in both single-SIM and dual-SIM models.
As far as the rumors and reports go, it is expected that the company will increase the number of devices in G-series from three to four, meaning that we might see Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Plus and another Moto G7 Power in addition to the regular Moto G7.
According to the previous leaks and renders, the Moto G7 will bear a glass and aluminium construction housing a large camera module on the rear, reminiscent of the Moto G6 lineup.
Furthermore, another leak shows that Motorola is working on a Qi wireless charging pad and provided that no Moto device supports Wireless charging at the moment, it is a direct hint towards the possibility of G7 having support for Wireless charging.
Lastly, it is being speculated that the G7 will sport a 6.4-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, and an octa-core SoC that could be the Snapdragon 660 or maybe something newer, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Further, it may come with a 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup at the back, followed by a 12-megapixel shooter at the front. It is most likely to have a 3,500mAh battery and the presence of 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port can be seen clearly in the renders.
Moto might unveil its Moto G7 line-up in early 2019, maybe January or February. That being said, let’s wait for upcoming leaks and reports. Till then, stay tuned.
