As rumored earlier, the smartphone giant Xiaomi has finally unveiled it’s truly wireless yet budget friendly earphones named as Mi AirDots Youth Edition, in its homeland China.
The new Mi AirDots come with true wireless stereo (TWS) technology that splits audio in both earbuds to deliver a truly-wireless and stereo sound experience, just like the Apple AirPods.
Starting off with the controls, they come with a touch sensitive zone which allows you to interact with the voice assistant, play or pause music, attend or reject a voice call or even mute an ongoing voice call just with a simple finger touch. It’s also worth noting that there are no physical buttons on the device.
As of the technical aspects, the earphones have 7.2mm audio drivers which are boasted to produce deep bass and high-quality stereo audio by the company. Furthermore, they work on the latest Bluetooth v5.0 protocol which ensures lesser power consumption and better range, nonetheless, they are also compatible with devices having Bluetooth v4.2 and older versions of it.
As far as the battery life is concerned, these earphones can last up to 4 hours of continuous usage in stereo mode, while prolonging the endurance up to 5 hours when used lone, in mono mode.
Further, mimicking the AirPods, Mi AirDots come with an additional carrying case made of plastic which is touted to deliver an extra 12 hour of juice to the earphones. When not in use, the earbuds can be placed in the case to charge them without the need of any external power source.
The Xiaomi Mi AirDots Youth Edition are currently up for pre-orders in China at a price of CNY 199 (roughly Rs. 2,100) while they will be sold via Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning, starting from November 11. As of now, there’s are no official announcement regarding the global availability, and we hardly doubt if it will come to India. Stay tuned.
