Apple has launched the recently announced iPhone SE in India at price tag starting Rs. 39,000 through company’s online and offline retail partners in Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold color variants. While the 16GB variant is available at Rs. 39,000, the 64GB model is priced at Rs. 49,000 loaded with iOS 9.3 out-of-the-box.
As far as Indian consumers are concerned, the pricing of iPhone SE is on a higher side especially considering the fact the display size. With several reliable alternatives in disposal, only time will tell as to whether iPhone SE will be successful in the Indian market.
Apple iPhone SE Specs
On the specifications front, Apple iPhone SE features 4-inch IPS panel, 2GB RAM, 64-bit Apple A9 chipset paired with a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. With a pixel density of 326 ppi, the handset boasts a resolution of 1136×640 pixels, which is higher than conventional smartphones. A 1642 mAh non-removable battery, which is capable of delivering a talk time of 14 hours on 3G network completes the package.
A big attraction of iPhoneSE is the addition of Hey Siri functionality, which will work even if you remove the device from the charger, thanks to the motion co-processor. Previously, this functionality would work only if you connect the device to a power source.
While the primary camera features a 12MP iSight camera with a new image processor, dual-LED true tone flash, f/2.2, 29mm, phase detection autofocus, the front-facing shooter comes with a 5MP FaceTime camera coupled with f/2.4 aperture and face detection technology.
Talking about connectivity, the nano-SIM based iPhone SE comes with LTE support, which Apple claims, is 50 percent faster than the previous counterparts. With added support for Live Photos, the iPhone SE also provide support for TouchID, Secure Enclave, and Apple Pay support via NFC.
