According to Samsung, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones are safe to use even after reports of series of explosions. In a statement issued to the press, Samsung disclosed that the company stands behind the quality and safety of the Samsung Galaxy S7 family.
Meanwhile, there have been no confirmed cases of internal battery failures with these handsets. There are more than 10 million Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones being used by consumers in the United States.
Samsung further added that they have confirmed a number of instances caused by severe external damage. However, the company has not obtained the phone which got damaged. Hence, it is very difficult to determine the exact cause of the incidents without careful examination of the damaged handset.
Recently, Samsung had delivered pop-up messages to Galaxy S7 customers to assure them that they are handsets are very safe. The company also clarified that they are not initiating any recall process for the Samsung Galaxy S7 phones.
In a latest smartphone explosion incident, a Samsung Galaxy S7 owner had claimed that his phone exploded. He had to suffer intense second and third-degree burns on hands.
In October, a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge reportedly exploded while charging overnight. The phone exploded automatically causing a fire. Moreover, another user reported that the phone exploded inside the pocket causing second and third-degree burns.
A Samsung customer based in Europe had claimed that his Galaxy J5 smartphone caught fire and exploded. Samsung is not the only brand affected by series of explosions.
There are widespread reports about the explosion of iPhone 7. Interestingly, the new iPhone exploded during transit. The customer was shocked to see charred body of the handset upon opening of the package.
That being said, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are completely safe to use. The company said that the recent explosions need not have to be taken seriously.
