Indian automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched company’s first ever crossover dubbed S-Cross at an ex-showroom in Delhi. The car has been made available at a decent base price of Rs 8.34 lakhs. S-Cross would recently be available at the NEXA network introduced by Maruti lately.
Aesthetically built a new mechanism, the S-Cross comes with a wide variety of new features. The features more or less include Control over cruising, an automatic rain sensing wipers, Hydraulic clutch plates with self-adjustment and a beautiful rear seat recliner.
Having a goal of reaching a milestone mark of 2 million vehicles, Maruti Suzuki India has come up with 35 operating NEXA showrooms in 23 cities across the country. The organisation has also planned to reach the 100 mark by the beginning of 2016.
According to the sales and marketing executive director, R S Kalsi, the cars would only be catered to the domestic market as of now. If the customer reviews get good then only it could be released in the international market.
The new project had gone through an investment of around Rs. 600 crores as per the insiders’ statements. The car would be sporting a Diesel Engine and would be available in two variants, one with the DDiS 200 (1.3-litre engine) and the DDiS 320 consisting of a 1.6-litre engine.
Maruti tends to increase their percentage of share regarding the development of the new car model. Their target of selling would be around 2,000-3,000 cars per month. According to their spokesperson, around 35,000 inquiries have been settled regarding the selling of the vehicle.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross seems to compete with large scale automobile vendors like Hyundai and Renault to serve the Indian market with a budget and a luxury vehicle that middle-class consumers can afford.
