LG K10 First Impressions and Specs Review: 5.3″HD Display, 2GB RAM, and More

lg k10

LG launched the first of its ‘K’ series phones today, the LG K10 and K7. The ‘K’ series is manufactured in India with both phones targeted at entry-level buyers, the K10 offering better specifications than the K7.

We have taken a close look at the K10 and charted out a list of things you need to know about the new entrant.

LG K10 First Impressions

The LG K10 is certainly more appealing to the hand than the K7. The former weighs almost 20 grams lighter and is even thinner than its base-model counterpart. LG K10 is fashioned out of plastic, with a glossy sheen on the front and a leatherette finish on the back. Although some might find the texture refreshing, it increases the chances of housing layers of dust and grime in a tropical country like India.

The phone houses the volume and power buttons on the back, right under the camera lens. A quick glance from the front and the LG K10 will resemble the LG G5. The LG K10 comes along with a better processor than the K7, but it still might not be the greatest. With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor that clocks at 1.2GHz and 2GB of RAM, the phone may prove to be slow regarding performance.

The device houses 16GB of internal storage memory which can be scaled up with the use of a micro-SD card. The K10 is expected to bring features from LG’s higher models to its mid-priced ones. A look at the screen, however, will tell you otherwise. Although capable of replicating great colour, the images are not as sharp. The LG K10 houses a 5.3-inch HD display screen.

The new K10 sports a slightly better rear camera than the K7 at 13MP. The rear camera comes along with an LED-flash and can take good shots in well-light conditions. Like the LG K7, low-light photography on the K10 might not seem to provide the greatest results. The K10 houses a 2,300mAH removable battery at the back of the phone.

Considering that the phone is not run on power-intensive hardware, the user should be able to use the phone for a little under two days on a 3G network. Just like with the LG K7, the K10 would not be able to support Android’s latest Marshmallow with its current hardware specifications. Even it if did, you would never expect to see fluidity. The LG K10 ships with Android’s Lollipop 5.1 pre-loaded onto it.
