Xiaomi Inc is reportedly working on the all new Mi 5s, which is being rumored to come with a metallic build and a pressure sensitive display offering features similar to Apple iPhone’s 3D Touch. Dubbed as Mi 5S, the 5.5-inch version of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 5 might be introduced in the second half of this year, as per suggested reports.
According to XiaomiToday, the Mi 5s will come with an advanced force touch-enabled display that will be similar to Apple’s 3D Touch technology, presently available in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Xiaomi Mi 5S is rumored to come with the same Snapdragon 820 processor with Qualcomm’s Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and dual rear cameras packed with 6GB of RAM.
Xiaomi is also said to be working on the second generation of its Mi Note phablet. This new flagship of Xiaomi is expected to come with a Snapdragon 821 processor, with the option of a 5.7-inch FHD 1080P or QHD 2160P curved display and two storage configurations of 64GB or 128GB.
It had been rumored that this phone would have a ceramic body, but this is a remote possibility since Xiaomi had many issues in making a ceramic body of its former Xiaomi MI5. And unless it addresses these issues, there is a possibility of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2’s body being of metal or another material. The smartphone may also feature a dual 12MP rear camera, a 4000mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, fast charging and up to 6GB of RAM.
If these rumors were to be true, we’d be getting a lot of new interesting features by Xiaomi taking advantage of the force-touch functionality.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 variant sporting 4GB of RAM with 32GB of storage is expected to be available at a price of 2499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 25,000), the 6GB RAM with 64GB standard variant at 2999 Yuan (approximately Rs. 30,000) and the 6GB RAM with 128GB curved panel variant at 3499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 35,000).
