Samsung to skip Note 6 for Galaxy Note 7: Features, specs and release date

The South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is expected to launch the next Galaxy Note device in August, but rumors have it that the company might name its upcoming device as the Galaxy Note 7. As per a popular tech portal, Samsung will completely skip the Galaxy Note 6 series and will launch the device with a new name, Note 7 or Note X.

As shown the picture, the Edge version of the upcoming phone can be seen in the import listed with model number SM-N935G.

There are not other details mentioned in the picture, but we expect that the upcoming device will bear high-end specifications and features with special reference to power saving capabilities. As per the current timetable, Samsung is expected to release Note 6 one month ahead of the arrival of Apple iPhone 7 in September.

According to reports, Samsung has already placed orders for the Iris cam parts for the Galaxy Note 6. It is this news that makes tech geeks to believe that the device will have either retina or iris scanner. Moreover, the company has imported a metal mask, which is normally used in a smartphone manufacturing plant with part number SM-N935G and reference identity – TOP.

On the specifications front, the upcoming Galaxy Note will feature a 5.5-inch SAMOLED display with Iris scanner technology. The rumors suggest that Samsung could release a 5.8-inch variant, which will likely offer curved display. While the normal 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 6 model looks similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S7, the premium variant with 5.8-inch will feature a curved screen, which looks similar to Samsung S7 Edge.

When Galaxy Note 5 was released, people were disappointed because it doesn’t offer an expandable storage slot. Based on the customers feedback, Samsung is expected to include a microSD slot, which will have the capacity to expand the storage up to 256GB.

Talking about other specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be equipped with Exynos 8-core processor, 6GB RAM, 12MP rear/5.8MP front snapper, fingerprint sensor, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, USB Type-C with integrated Samsung Pay technology.

We expect Samsung to release the Note 7 with Snapdragon 823 processor as well, which will be shipped to Europe and Western countries. In India, we can expect the device to bear Exynos processor. With support for fast and wireless charging, it is likely that the device will be shipped with either 4000mAh or 4500mAh battery.

Rumors also suggest that Samsung will bundle S-Pen Stylus, which will also serve as a kickstand. Moreover, the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will be protected against dust and water via IP68 technology.

Expected to be designed using aluminum and glass, the Galaxy S7 will be able to resist in water up to 5 feet for 30 minutes. Moreover, people prefer curved displays since they are on a lookout for new devices, which will stand out from the rest of the devices.
