Reliance Jio Infocomm will offer 70000 4G mobile connections to its employees today to enable them to test drive the various features before it is rolled out to the general public in 2016. It will bring a total number of test connections to 100000.
According to official sources, users will be able to enjoy Internet speeds of up to 50 to 60 Mbps via the 4G service.
In addition to 4G, Reliance will also provide a facility for the employees to test various upcoming 4G enabled mobile services such as Jio Chat, Jio Money, Jio Play and Jio-on-Demand. The connection package will also include OOKla app. However, we don’t have any information about this app.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio has invited all its employees to the 4G launch event where you will be able to view performances by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and musician AR Rahman. Moreover, the entire program is expected to be broadcasted over the web across 1000 Reliance centres across India.
The company is expected to fix any issues based on the feedback generated from the internal testing. Hence, the public will be able to have trouble-free mobile experience.
Reliance Jio has planned to bring in 100 million subscribers for 4G service in 2016-2017. The company sources revealed that this is expected to increase with high demand for faster connectivity from all section of users.
Reliance also explained the purpose of the apps that will be bundled with 4G connections. With the help of JioChat, you will be able to communicate using text, instant videos and emojis.
The JioMoney provides an ability to pay for meals at the Jio Headquarters in Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) in Mumbai. Moreover, all shops and restaurants situated in the park will accept the mobile wallet with the possibility to expand its reach across the country. The company is scheduled to establish a partnership with State Bank of India to set up a payments bank.
The idea, India’s leading mobile service provider, has informed that the Reliance Jio 4G will not be a threat to their upcoming launch of 4G service in southern states with a possibility to expand to10 telecom circles by the end of March 2016. Moreover, Airtel and Vodafone have also established the presence of 4G in India.
Airtel and Reliance Jio bagged the 4G spectrum that was originally auctioned in 2010 in the 2300 MHz band. However, Idea only participated in the auction of 1,800 MHz frequency in 2014 and 2015.
