Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set for the next killer device on the block – OnePlus 2, confirmed to be priced at $500 and $600 AUS.
Named smartly as “2”, the phone is yet to be released, and yet, Pete Lau, CEO of the company has confirmed that their product will be priced as mentioned above.
The company has stated that OnePlus 2 will have a price estimate upwards of US$500, starting that it was never about money.
Just like OnePlus One, the to-be-launched device too will come with a huge specs sheet, aimed to compete with Apple and Samsung.
Reports suggested that OnePlus 2 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, making it the cheapest device with that chipset in the market, after it is released.
As compared to “The One”, that was priced at US$300, the new device is expensive, but will come with much better specifications. The company had reduced the price of “The One” to US$249 some time back.
Reports were also abuzz with the news that the price tag will ensure much better list of features, and some tabloids said that that the model will come with 4GB RAM coupled with LPDD4, which is the newest kind of RAM on the block.
For now, the good news is OnePlus 2 is better and more advanced as compared to OnePlus One. Final details are expected soon, once the smartphone is launched officially later this month on the web.
The release date is set for July 27, 2015.
