Xiaomi has launched the Mi Max 2 smartphone in India today with a price tag of INR 16999. Xiaomi has also partnered with Reliance Jio and will offer 100GB of additional data to Jio users who buy the Mi Max 2, along with 10GB additional data with every Rs 309 recharge. The handset comes with a larger 6.44-inch Full HD display, 4GB RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1. It will be available in the Matt Black color variant. As per the table, you can see that Mi Max 2 is a significant upgrade compared to its predecessor. Most of the users may think that Max 2 is powered by a downgrade chipset as the specifications, but in reality, the Snapdragon 625 is based on 14nm FinFet technology and clocked at 2.0 GHz which results in superior performance and power saving capabilities as compared to Snapdragon 650. This time the RAM also has been bumped up to 4GB as compared to 3GB RAM in the previous gen.

Another significant improvement in Mi Max 2 is the mammoth 5300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 which claims to provide two full days back up under heavy usage. Further, the Mi Max 2 is enriched by dual stereo speakers to cater the media junkies, as the previous version has the single firing speaker. Talking about the camera, it comes with the Sony IMX386 12MP rear sensor with F/2.2 which seems to be superior contender compared to last generation device.
