Indian car manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra is recalling an unknown number of its new generation Scorpio along with the Nuvo Sport.
The company in a statement said the recall is for a faulty fluid hose for vehicles manufactured until 2016. Mahindra further added that customers will be individually contacted by the company for inspection and the subsequent fix will be done free of cost.
“As an endeavor to ensure a hassle free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity. This action is also in compliance with SIAM’s voluntary code on vehicle recall,” M&M said.
This is the second time in a span of two months the company has been forced to recall its vehicles, As just last month, an unspecified number of SsangYong Rexton SUVs were recalled for a faulty rear drive shaft last month.
In other related news, Mahindra & Mahindra recently announced a strategic alliance with Ola to empower 4000 driver partners across India by the year 2018. The partnership is essentially aimed to boost its vehicle sales to Rs. 2,600 crores. With a special focus on financing, the company will assist driver partners to strengthen their daily income and thereby improving their standard of living.
Earlier this month, Mahindra & Mahindra also launched the new Bolero Power+ SUV equipped the technology-friendly mHawkD70 engine starting at Rs. 6.59 lakhs. The SUV is available in three variants – SLE, SLX & ZLX across all authorized Mahindra dealers across the country. The company claims the mHAWKD70 engine is capable of belting out 13 percent enhanced power.
In addition, Mahindra also added the new Bolero Power+ series offers 5 percent improved mileage than it’s predecessor. In terms of power, it delivers 52.5kW (70bhp) with a torque of 195 Nm. The new Bolero Power+ offers the same cabin space as it’s existing model and is equipped with a total of 7 seats.
Other key features on the Bolero+ include a digital instrument cluster, a Driver Information System (DIS), along with a voice messaging system. Furthermore, it gets a new fuel-saving Micro Hybrid technology which allows the vehicle to intelligently switch the engine into the standby mode when not required. Mahindra claims the feature reduces fuel consumption in an eco-friendly way.
