Hyundai Tucson SUV launches in India starting at Rs 18.99 lakh

The next generation Hyundai Tucson has launched in India at Rs. 18.99 lakh. According to sources, bookings for the Hyundai Tucson SUV have been already started one month back at an upfront payment of Rs. 25,000.

The new Hyundai Tucson features the new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design theme with the refreshed front grille. According to industry analysts, the Tucson SUV would be an attempt by the company to gain momentum with the intense competition from various manufacturers in the emerging SUV segment.

The car features the larger hexagonal grille with Chrome slats flanked by sharp projector headlamps. Hyundai Tucson features a pair of stylish horizontal LED fog lamps and LED daytime running lights below them.

Hyundai Tucson cabinbs gets a big makeover with dual-tone black and beige treatment. Moreover, it offers fabric upholstery on the base trim and leather upholstery for the higher trims.

Hyundai Tucson specifications

On the specifications front, the Hyundai Tucson is capable of producing 152PS of power and 192Nm of torque. Moreover, the SUV is designed in a stylish and European style. You can either buy diesel model or opt for and petrol variant. The SYV is offered in three trim levels – 2WD MT, 2WD AT GL, and 2WD AT GLS.

Regarding transmission, you will have the option to choose either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Moreover, the engine is expected to be reshaped in such a way that the mated gearbox will also feature revised gear ratios. This will most likely match the requirements of an SUV.

Hyundai Tucson offers a 2-litre diesel engine

Hyundai Tucson features a 2-litre diesel engine that offers 185PS of power and 400Nm of torque. Furthermore, the SUV is expected to ship with an automatic transmission.

Recently, the company has launched the new 2017 Hyundai Elantra in India at an attractive price of Rs. 12.99 lakh. The launch of Tucson SUV gains importance especially in the scenario where the company is gearing up to launch several premium SUVs to tap the budget class segment in India.

According to reports, the Hyundai India is planning to add four SUV models to its product catalog over the next four years. The company is looking ahead to consolidate its position in the fast-growing segment.

Hyundai Tucson SUV is the third offering in India. The Santa Fe sits on the top of the SUV segment, while the Creta occupied the lower end.

Hyundai has opened the bookings for Tucson SUV one month back at a pre-order price of Rs. 25,000. The dealers across the country have been accepting bookings from customers who pay the upfront amount.
