Huawei Mate 9 Pro is expected to release with a dual-curved display with 4X optical zoom at a shocking price of $1300. Evan Blass, the popular leaker of tech gadgets, has recently published renders of the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 Pro on a popular tech portal.
Likely to be codenamed as Long Island, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro will feature a 5.9-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. With curves on both sides of the display, the handset looks similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
Snap (no pun intended): Mate 9/Pro feature 4x optical zoom. But pricing on a spec'ed out Pro is enough to give you a heart attack: $1300.

Huawei Mate 9 Pro, Mate 9 specifications
On the specifications front, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro will be powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, 4GB RAM, up to 256GB internal storage loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. There are reports that the company will release 64GB and 18GB storage variants of the handset. The company will probably ditch the 32GB storage variant.
On the other hand, the Mate 9 handset will also be equipped with a 5.9-inch Full HD display, Kirin 960 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro will have Leica branded dual-camera
Upon inspection of leaked renders, we can confirm that both models will ship with a Leica branded dual-camera setup. Hence, you can expect a phone similar to that of Huawei’s P9 smartphone. However, the company has bumped the capacity of the camera sensor on Mate 9 handsets to 20MP.
Meanwhile, Blass also took to Twitter and shared interesting information that the upcoming handsets will provide support for 4X optical zoom. According to Blass, this feature can be considered an add-on for the Mate 9 duo’s cameras.
While the Huawei P9’s camera shunted the Optical Image Stabilisation feature, we expect the addition of OIS in the new phones.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro Pricing and Availability
The pricing factor is most shocking. If rumors are to be believed, Huawei Mate 9 Pro is expected to be priced at $1300, which is approximately Rs. 93,000. You can expect Mate 9 to cost around $480 (Rs. 32,000) for the default mode. The price can go up to $700 (Rs. 47,000) for the 256GB internal storage variant. You can expect the launch of Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 on November 3.
We don’t have any information about the availability of the Mat 9 Pro in India. However, we expect the phone to be launched during Q1 2017.
