Back in August, Google rebranded its Google Drive storage plans with the new name Google One. It was essentially the company’s way to offer more affordable Google Drive storage plans to its users, and at the same time giving them more storage. The new service was launched in the US last month. Now, Google has officially confirmed that the new cloud storage model will soon launch in India.
“Users in India will soon be able to enjoy more options to fit their storage needs – whether you’re working, connecting with friends, or preserving your memories,” wrote Pavni Diwanji, VP of Google One, in the official blog post.
Google has also confirmed that it Google Drive subscribers in India will be automatically upgarded to Google One plans in the coming weeks. However, the compnay is yet to annouce the pricing of its new storage model for the Indian market.
In the US, Google One plans start at $2.99 (roughly INR 216) per month which includes 200GB of storage. The company has also upgraded the $9.99 (INR 720 approx.) per month plan from 1TB to 2TB. Not to mention, users also get added services such as the abiltiy tp share your storage with uo tp five family members. Google claims that this storage isn’t just limited to to Google Drive, as it can also be used for Gmail and Photos.
Google One offers other perks as well. These include credits on Google Play and deals on select hotels listed on Google Search. Google One subscribers also get free on-tap access to Google experts to help customers understand the comapny’s several products and services.
