Sony has officially released Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for its flashship smartphones – Sony Xperia Z2 D6503, Xperia Z3 D6603 and Xperia Z3 Compact D5803 with build number 23.5.A.0.570 and comes with the February Android security patch including a new camera app interface. As of writing this, the update is available for users in Middle East, North Africa, Latin America, Russia and Ukraine to begin with.
As of May 4, Sony has also rolled out Android 6 Marshmallow update for Z2 tablet, which was not released in the April update cycle. Moreover, you can now easily upgrade your devices via either PC companion or Push Notification. If you own any one of the above devices including Z2 tablet, Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium and Z3+, you will be able to view the push notification, which enable you to upgrade the device easily.
As seen in the beta Marshmallow updates, the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 series will feature a new camera user interface version 2.0 present in the Z5 models.
Moreover, the latest UI also provides the ability to swipe between different camera modes, video or manual. It is also possible to leverage the benefits of sliders, which enable you to adjust brightness and other parameters in real time including the ability to customize settings with simple gestures.
Among other new features like enhanced privacy settings and smart battery life, Sony has integrated a new home launcher with version 10.0.A.0.10, which features a search option in the app tray including an exclusive messaging module with the ability to share activities with friends, contacts, and app lists.
The latest Marshmallow update offers an ability to share activity with friends and contacts via direct share module.

Sony, meanwhile, has also added support for Doze, which will automatically trigger the phone to sleep mode when not used for a long time. With the available data on the screen, Google Now will be activated in addition to the smart judging of what is being discussed with the device.
For example, if you are having a chat with your friend about a certain movie, the feature will predict the name of characters played in it with links to trailers or reviews.
While Sony Xperia Z2 was released in April 2014, the other two models arrived in September with Z2 featuring a lower clock speed of 2.3GHz, while its little brothers featuring processors with 2.5GHz clock speed. The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is equipped with a 4.6-inch HD display while Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch FHD IPS display with 3GB RAM.
Back in October, Sony promised to bring an update for a wide range of Sony devices with the company releasing a beta build a month ago. The latest updates will be available in a phased manner even though you can force check for the availability of an update by tapping the relevant icon.
