Apple iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus get massive price cut after iPhone 7 launch

After the official launch of iPhone 7 and as expected, the Cupertino-based smartphone giant has slashed the prices of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s by $100. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s start at $99 and $199 (on contract). Moreover, Apple has also refreshed the iPhone 6s with 32GB default storage capacity. Hence, you will be able to take advantage of the increased storage even if you are not investing in the latest smartphones.

Apple discontinues iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and iPhone 5s

Along with the release of iPhone 7, Apple also discontinued the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 5s. However, you can still purchase these smartphone from various online stores till the entire stock gets exhausted. Furthermore, you will not be able to buy these handsets from official Apple stores. You should note that Apple will not provide any kind of support for these old smartphones.

iPhone 6s enables you to upgrade to iOS 10

If you purchase iPhone 6s at reduced pricing, you will be able to upgrade to iOS 10, which will be available OTA on September 13. Apple is providing this extra bonus for all 2015 devices.

In 2015, Apple introduced the iPhone Upgrade Program. This program enables you to access a new unlocked iPhone every year as a free upgrade directly from your carrier. If you opt for this package for iPhone 7, you have to pay fixed cost per month. You will also get iPhone 8 in 2017 in exchange of iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 available with 4 carriers in the US

If you are not willing to buy old Apple handsets, you will have to invest for the latest iPhone 7. The new iPhone is available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB internal storage capacities from four leading carriers in the US.

Even though the new iPhone is available only from Apple store, the handset will be available from Amazon and other stores by the end of this month. It’s just that Apple wants to keep the exclusive tag for some time till the gadgets are released to other retail channels.
