Xiaomi recently teased the sub-teased in India, revealing its plans to launch its new series of smartphones in the country. The first Poco-branded handset to launch in series is rumoured to be the Pocophone F1. Past leaks have tipped that the smartphone could be the cheapest handset to come with Snapdragon 845 processor. Now, a new unboxing video of the handset has surfaced online which not only confirms earlier leaks about the device, but also reveals new information about the device.
The latest unboxing video reveals a notched display on the Pocophone F1. The video showcases a yellow retail box which includes an adapter, a USB Type C
cable, as well as a back cover. The cover also indicates at the presence of dual rear cameras.
The box also reveals other key specs such as Snapdragon 845 processor bundled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It also reveals that the handset will come with Liquid cooling system, a technology that will help the phone dissipate heat more efficiently, especially during heavy usage or gaming sessions.
The cover further reveals the optics on the smartphone. According to the cover, the Pocophone F1 will come with AI-powered dual rear cameras coupled with dual pixel autofocus. However, the cover did not reveal the exact megapixel count of dual rear cameras. For selfies, the cover reveals that the handset will come equipped with a 20MP front-facing shooter with facial IR unlock.
Finally, the cover reveals that the Pocophone F1 will come with a 4000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Apart from specifications, the video also gives us an idea about the handset’s design. The video shows the Pocophone F1 sporting an iPhone X-like notch which houses the earpiece and the selfie camera. The device appears to have rather slim bezels, though we can clearly see a chin at the bottom. On the back, Pocophone F1 is shown with a dual camera setup with a circular shaped fingerprint scanner placed just below it. At the bottom of the handset, meanwhile, we can see the Pocophone brand logo.
As far as release goes, Xiaomi has now confirmed that it will announce the Poco F1 in India on August 22. The device will likely be offered in 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variants. The former is rumoured to be priced around EUR 420 (INR 33,800 approx.), while the latter is said to cost EUR 460 (INR 37,000 approx.).
