Recently Oppo released its selfie camera-centric smartphone Oppo F1s. It comes with 16 MP front-facing camera. Vivo also announced a new smartphone Vivo V5 with the same USP as Oppo F1s, front-facing camera. But Vivo has done better by adding a 20 MP front-facing camera with moonlight flash. Let’s see how these smartphones stands at different aspects.
Vivo V5 vs Oppo F1s: Display and Design
The display on both smartphones Vivo V5 and Oppo F1s are quite similar. Both of the smartphones sports a 5.5 inches IPS LCD display with HD (720 X 1280) resolution and 267 ppi pixel density. You’ll get almost similar video quality on both the smartphones. In this price range, Vivo and Oppo should have provided full HD display. Although there is no difference in display on both of the smartphones but creating an opinion just by reading the specs is not fair.
The design of both the smartphone is similar; both of the smartphones comes with a 5.5 inches display and a front facing fingerprint sensor below the display which also works as a home button. Thickness on both the smartphones are nearly equal; Oppo F1s is 7.4 mm thick and Vivo V5 is 7.5 mm thick. Well, you can’t differentiate between them with this much less difference.

Vivo V5 and Oppo F1s both smartphones comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow running out of the box. But you’ll get different OS skin on these two smartphones; Oppo F1s with Color OS 3.0 and Vivo V5 with Funtouch OS 2.6. Funtouch OS and Color OS both looks and feel like the popular UI – MIUI from Xiaomi. Both UI is simple and straightforward without app drawer.
Vivo V5 vs Oppo F1s: Performance
Talking about performance, both smartphones differs a lot here. Vivo V5 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor running at a frequency of 1.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM and Adreno 510 GPU for best processing, multitasking, and gaming experience. Whereas Oppo F1s comes with a MediTek MT6750 octa-core processor running at a clock speed of 1.5 GHz with 3 GB RAM and Mali-T860MP2. Looking at the specs, it is clear that Vivo V5 is more powerful than Oppo F1s.
Vivo V5 vs Oppo F1s: Camera
Front facing camera is the USP in both of the smartphones. Oppo F1s features a 16 MP front facing camera which is capable of shooting full HD videos and f/2.0 aperture size. Vivo V5 features a 20MP front-facing camera with soft light flash and lots of beauty apps. Both smartphones come with 13 MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus. According to the front-facing camera, Vivo V5 is a better smartphone than Oppo F1s.
Vivo V5 vs Oppo F1s: Battery and other features
The battery in Oppo F1s is 3075mAh and in Vivo V5 is 3000mAh. The battery backup should be similar in both of the smartphones if we look at the specs but battery backup depends on lots of other features including the operating system. Other features include a front-facing fingerprint sensor which also works as a clickable home button.
Conclusion
Both of the smartphones are a worthy competitor which comes with similar price range but if we look at the USP of both smartphones (selfie camera), Vivo V5 is the winner here with 20 MP camera and soft light flash. You can click better selfies on Vivo V5 but if you want better performance, Oppo F1s is paying better here.
