It was believed that the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was going to be released in September, but rumors suggest that eager fans may be able to get their hands on the device even sooner. Current rumors indicate that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 5 on August 12, and then make it available on the market nine days later on August 21, 2015.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date

It’s expected that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be unveiled alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Edge, although that phone may be going by the name Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Regardless of the name, the second phone that will be launched in conjunction with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 appears to be a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Specs and Features

The design of the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be quite similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge, except it will have curved glass on the back instead of the front, leaving the screen flat. The Note 5 should also have a thinner bezel than the S6 Edge while the removal of the microSD card is also a notable change. The Galaxy Note 5 will have a display size of 5.7 inches.

The specifications of the Galaxy Note 5 will also have notable upgrades to help Samsung remain competitive. The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to feature an improved version of the Exynos 7420 and 4 GB of RAM, with customary storage options of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.

Other features to expect from the Galaxy Note 5 include an upgrade from 13 to 21 MP in its real lens camera, an upgrade from 5 to 8 MP in its front lens camera. And a battery that could reach as high as 4,100mAh. There are also rumors of an S-Pen that ejects on voice command, although based on the timing of the patent from Samsung, it may be too late to be featured on the Note 5, leaving Samsung users in wait-and-see mode.

These rumors are going hand-in-hand with the rumors that the Galaxy Note 5 will be unveiled and released in August, a change from past years when new Note products have been announced during the IFA Expo in September. Nothing is official from Samsung yet, but the rumors give users hope that the Galaxy Note 5 will be available sooner than expected.
