Reliance Jio effect: Airtel Mega Saver Packs with 1 GB 4G/3G data introduced starting Rs. 51

Bharti Airtel has introduced two brand new 4G / 3G packs to provide affordable high-speed mobile internet to its prepaid customers. To get 1 GB 4G or 3G data at the rate of Rs. 51 for a year, you need to first recharge with Rs. 1,498. The other plan requires you to recharge with Rs. 748, in the beginning, to use 1 GB 4G / 3G internet at Rs. 99 for six months. These packs are already operational in Delhi where you can recharge the specific amounts right now to get the benefits. Airtel has assured to make the packages applicable across India within 31 August.

With the new tariff vouchers, the largest telecom operator in the country hopes to offer more value for money to its users. To activate the first plan, you need to pay Rs.1498, which will provide 1 GB 4G / 3G data with 28 days’ validity. Then, you may perform an unlimited number of Rs. 51 recharges to get 1 GB of high-speed mobile internet. This will be valid for a period of 12 months, starting from the date of the Rs.1498 recharge.

The second plan will cost you Rs. 748 at the beginning which will also get you 1 GB 4G / 3G internet for 28 days similar to the previous scheme. After that, you will be able to get 1 GB 4G or 3G internet for just Rs. 99. In this pack too, you can recharge Rs.99 for unlimited time to get a GB of high-speed data but this time, for a period of six months.

As of now, the prices are only applicable for Delhi and may vary a bit from circle to circle. Only the prepaid Airtel customers are eligible for the new offer, and the company has not commented anything about the availability for post-paid users.

Ajay Puri, Bharti Airtel’s Director of Operations for India and South Asia said about the while announcing the launch mentioned –

At Airtel, we are constantly innovating to provide superior experience and great value to our customers. With these innovative packs, we are redefining the value proposition on our data packs and allowing our customers get a lot more within the same budget.

The new plans of Airtel are due to the immense pressure created by Reliance Jio. The latter is providing free 4G internet to its customers as a part of a preview offer and also promises to provide 4G data at extremely affordable rates. So, companies like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea are on a spree to launch attractive tariff plans to stop its customers from migrating to Jio.
