OPPO Reno Z with Helio P90 & 48MP Camera launched in China

After the recent launch of OPPO Reno and Reno 10X Zoom, the company has now unveiled yet another phone in China. Dubbed as OPPO Reno Z, the smartphone was introduced in Europe with Snapdragon 710 SoC alongside Reno and Reno 10X Zoom. However, in China, it comes with the MediaTek Helio P90 SoC.

Notably, the OPPO Reno Z is the cheapest smartphone in the Reno-series. While the previously launched Reno phones had shark-fin rising camera, the new Reno Z settles with a waterdrop notch display. That said, the main highlights of the device include a 48MP rear camera, an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 32MP selfie camera.

The OPPO Reno Z comes with 3D curved glass body with Aluminum mid-frame. There’s no camera bump, but the company has equipped in an O-Dot ceramic point to protect the camera lens. As for the specs, the device sports a 6.4-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and 92% screen-to-body ratio. As mentioned, the phone also bears an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the OPPO Reno Z is powered by the 12nm Helio P90 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The device comes with two variants, including 6/128GB and 8/256GB RAM and storage options. The device, unfortunately, skimps on a microSD card slot.

For photography, the Reno Z sports a dual camera at the rear. The module comprises of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, we have a 32MP shooter up front, compared to the 16MP unit on Reno and Reno 10X Zoom.

On the software front, the phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.0 skin on the top. All of this is backed by a 4,035mAh non-removable battery that supports VOOC 3.0 flash charge technology for 20W fast charging.

Connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port are given onboard. Lastly, the device measures 157.3 × 74.9 × 9.1 mm and weighs 186 grams.

OPPO Reno Z Pricing & Availability

The OPPO Reno Z price has been set at CNY 2499 (approx Rs. 25,000) for the top-end variant in China. Whereas, it starts at EUR 190 (INR 14,800 approx) for the European market.

The device is currently available for pre-orders. And will go on sale starting June 6th in Star Purple, Midnight Black, Pearl White, and Coral Orange colour options. The company is yet to comment on the availability of the smartphone for the Indian market.
