Chinese giant Oppo launched a new budget phone A37 in India at Rs. 11,990, and is said to go on sale on 1 July. The device was initially unveiled in Singapore last week, and the company wasted no time in bringing it to India.
Oppo A37 has a 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D Arc Edge screen and 293ppi pixel density. The smartphone features a metal unibody design, weighs 136 grams and comes with Gorilla Glass 4.
The smartphone packs an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, UHD shooting mode, and the front camera is 5MP. It comes with Beautify 4.0, which has seven different levels of intelligent beautify and two modes for different skin tones.
Inside the A37 is a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable by another 128 GB via microSD card. This phone also comes with triple-slot card tray which means, you can insert two 4G SIMs along with a microSD card. It runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The battery in the device is a 2630mAh non-removable one and it is compatible with 4G LTE Indian bands and supports speeds of up to a decent 150 Mbps for downloads. The other standard connectivity options include Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB.
This phone does not have fingerprint sensor which has lately become a regular feature on smartphones nowadays. It’s biggest competitors are Honor 5C and LeEco Le 2 in its price league. The heat of the battle of the specs can be felt even in the budget smartphones, especially among the Chinese companies like Oppo, LeEco, Mi, OnePlus etc. With the recent success of companies like Mi and OnePlus. It has indeed been a joyride for the tech geeks.
